Valentine’s Day

Hey everyone! Happy Valentine’s Day – if that’s your ‘thing’.
I’ve just had a really interesting conversation with someone and it’s sparked a desire to write a little something in here about
“self love” on ‘Valentines Day’. ❤🌺
To be perfectly honest, I personally don’t rate today. I feel it is a commercialised crock and after nearly 16 years of marriage, I don’t need to be told what day of the year I express my love for my husband. I can and will do this whenever and as often as I like!
Now don’t get me wrong, if you have a partner/spouse and you are out celebrating your love tonight, good on you! Go and do your thing and have fun!
But I do believe ‘Valentine’s day’ can highlight or spark negative feelings in us, especially if we’ve experienced a tough relationship, break up or lost a loved one. And it’s even crappier if any of these things happened to you ON Valentines Day! I’m so sorry if that’s the case. If you’re single, today could inject feelings of loneliness or rejection and that can be tough.
But what I want to say is this – you don’t need a partner to feel loved or to be worthy of love!
If you’re single, embrace this! Being single is a gift! It’s time to self-seek, and self-love!!
Please know you ARE loved beyond measure. You are beautiful, wonderful and incredibly special and your worth is not tied up in your relationship status!
If you are not feeling happy with life, then I want to challenge you to consider what can you do about changing it! Your happiness is in your hands!
Can I suggest – Start with self-love!
I don’t mean being “on” yourself, but loving yourself. Listening to the deep desires of your heart, your intuition, your “gut” feelings. Listen to what it is you really want, what you want to experience in life, where you want to go, what you want to achieve. Are you pressing on through something you really don’t want to do? Why?
I’ll let you in on a secret – if you’re not happy with who you are as a single person, you won’t be happy with someone either!
So take today as an opportunity to self reflect and self-love: what is it that you want from life? Are you taking steps to create the life you want? Why or why not?
So, use today as an opportunity to self-love. A catalyst to create change – the change you want in your life!
Look after yourself. Do something that makes your soul sing. Something that makes you come alive. Something that puts a smile on your face and warms your heart. DO Something that makes you feel proud of who you are and pleased about the type of person you’ve become. Gift yourself love today. 💝💕
HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY EVERYONE xxx
